Specialist in Neurosurgery
Dr Dawson Fong took up training in neurosurgery since graduating from the University of Hong Kong. After obtaining his Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, he received further training in Canada and the United States as visiting fellows. For the past 23 years, he had been the Chief of Service and Consultant Neurosurgeon of the Department of Neurosurgery at Tuen Mun Hospital, one of the major neurosurgery training centres in Hong Kong before he joins the Hong Kong Neurosurgery Centre in 2014.
Apart from general neurosurgery of the brain and spinal cord, his special interests include paediatric, vascular and epilepsy neurosurgery.
He is the Training Program Director of the Neurosurgery Board at the College of Surgeon of Hong Kong responsible for matters related to the training quality of the next generation of local neurosurgeons. Currently he is the President of Hong Kong Stroke Fund, a charity organization aiming to promote awareness of the disease and to support unfortunate patients and families affected by the malady. He has been President of the Hong Kong Neurosurgery Society, the Hong Kong Stroke Society and the Federation of the Medical Societies of Hong Kong.back
